Sarah Barakat

M.A. Candidate, Graduate Intern

Sarah Barakat is a graduate student at The George Washington University in the M.A. Art Therapy Program, currently interning at Sage House Therapy. Sarah works with children, teens, and young adults, providing in-person art, play and talk therapy/counseling sessions. She has experience working with clients with ADHD, Autism, substance use disorders, sexual trauma history, executive function challenges, body image and disordered eating, identity exploration, anxiety, and depression.

Sarah earned her bachelors at Virginia Commonwealth University in International Relations with a concentration in Globalization. Some of her university experience was spent in Lebanon, where she specialized in middle eastern history and culture. After graduation, she spent most of her professional career in information technologies, working with government agencies and eventually nonprofits.

Sarah is under the Supervision of an on-site supervisor at The George Washington University and under the supervision of Sage House Counseling & Art Therapy supervisor, Kelley Kuchinov, MA, ATR-BC.  Sarah does not participate with any insurance companies as an in or out of network provider, however, she does provide discounted sessions.
