Art Therapist/Counselor- Child Specialty
Sage House Therapy is looking for an experienced associate to join our Reston Virginia team. Great opportunity to create your own schedule while working in a welcoming and supportive environment of other art and play therapists. Come join a thriving and dynamic private practice!
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide in-person talk therapy/ counseling, play therapy, sand tray therapy and art therapy to children ages 3 years- 12 years old.
Must feel comfortable coordinating care with parents and providing parental support.
Must be available at least three afternoons/evenings per week and available to work a weekend- Saturdays or Sundays.
Provide a minimum of 20 sessions (hours) per week.
All clients will be seen in-person at the Reston, Virginia Office location.
Qualifications
M.A. in Art Therapy
Must have an active license in Virginia- qualifying licenses include LPC, LMFT and LCSW. *Current Residents in Counseling are welcome to apply.
Must have a certification in Art Therapy (ATR-P, ATR or ATR-BC). Preference for clinicians with board certification as Art Therapist (ATR-BC) and/or Play Therapist (RPT).
Ideal candidates have a minimum of three years of experience (post-graduation) working with children and families.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed therapy.
Experience working with clients on the Autism Spectrum.
Value a creative and holistic approach.
Eager to grow professionally within the private practice setting and be an active member of our clinical team.

Mental Health Therapist- Eating Disorder Specialty
Sage House Therapy is looking for an experienced associate to join our Arlington and Reston, Virginia teams. Great opportunity to create your own schedule while working in a welcoming and supportive environment of other clinicians who share similar specialties!
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide in-person talk therapy/ counseling to teens (ages 13 +) and adults with eating disorders.
Must feel comfortable coordinating care with parents and providing parental support for teen clients.
Must be available at least three afternoons/evenings per week.
Provide a minimum of 20 sessions (hours) per week.
All clients will be seen in-person at the Arlington or Reston Office locations. Option to provide virtual sessions, when therapeutically appropriate.

Internship Opportunities
Let’s learn together! Sage House offers opportunities to student at various points in their educational journey.
Academic Year Internship
We love supporting students in their journey to becoming excellent mental health professionals! Our year- long (two semester) academic internship program runs from September 1st to June 1st year year. Sage House partners with local and national accredited graduate level art therapy programs to provide hands-on, direct client experience to students.
Eligibility Requirements
Enrolled in an accredited MA or MS program specializing in Art Therapy & Counseling
In the 2nd or 3rd year of the graduate level program
Live in the state of Virginia and available for an in-person, weekly internship at our Reston and Arlington offices
Summer Internship
Interested in the field of psychology and want to learn more first hand? Our summer internship runs from June 1 to August 15th each summer.
