Psychological Testing Process
The testing process begins with contacting the administrative team. Our admin staff will help guide you through the initial steps, provide the necessary paperwork, and schedule your appointment.
You will receive and complete all required intake forms and consent paperwork before your first session.
Once the paperwork is submitted, the intake session will be scheduled.
In some cases, depending on availability and the type of evaluation, the testing session may be scheduled at the same time as the intake or shortly after.
The overall process and timeline may vary based on availability, complexity of the evaluation, and individual scheduling needs.
The overall timeline is (based on availability):
Week 1: Intake session(s)
Week 2-3: Testing session(s) completed in person
Week 4-6: Feedback session(s) and report delivery
Step 1
Intake Session (60 minutes, online or in-person)
The intake is the first step in the process. It involves gathering background information, discussing the main concerns, and clarifying the goals of the evaluation.
The session typically lasts about one hour and can be done online or in person.
In some cases, a second intake session may be scheduled if more than one concern is being assessed (for example, ADHD, Autism, and/or mood-related issues) or if additional information is needed before testing.
During this session, we review history, current symptoms, previous diagnoses, and relevant records to ensure that the testing plan is tailored appropriately.
Step 2
Testing Session (3-5 hours, in-person only)
The testing session is when standardized assessments are administered.
Testing must be completed in person to ensure accuracy and standardization.
The length varies depending on the type of evaluation.
There is no need to study or prepare.
The process is not a pass-or-fail test.
Clients are encouraged to sleep well the night before, bring snacks, water, or a preferred drink, and wear comfortable clothing to help maintain focus and comfort.
Breaks are provided as needed throughout the session.
Step 3
Feedback Session (60 minutes, online or in-person)
About 3 to 4 weeks after testing, a feedback session is scheduled to review and discuss the results.
This session can be held online or in person.
You will receive a comprehensive written report summarizing findings, diagnostic impressions (if applicable), and individualized recommendations.
The purpose of this meeting is to help you understand your results clearly and to discuss next steps, such as treatment, academic accommodations, or workplace support.
“ It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.”
