Group Overview: Making and Maintaining Early Friendships
1) How to Be a Good Friend
Once we know how to avoid losing friendships we want to learn what it means to be a great friend. These sessions will explore what friendship is, what makes a good friend, and what strengths each person can bring to friendships.
2) How to Make Friends
Making friends can be scary or confusing. The group will teach girls strategies for making friends by covering topics like how to start a conversation, what is active listening, and getting to know someone.
3) How to Keep Friends
Keeping friends is often more challenging than making friends. The group will teach girls how to avoid losing friends through teaching concrete skills about conflict resolution, supporting one another, and avoiding divisive behavior. We will also take a look at boundaries and discipline and why they are so hard.
