Alexa Eisenberg

MA, ATR-P, Resident In Counseling

Alexa Eisenberg is an independent contractor at Sage House providing play, art, and talk therapy. Alexa earned an M.A. in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling from The George Washington University and works with children, teens, and adults. She is currently a Resident in Counseling working towards a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia. She is also a Provisional Registered Art Therapist (ATR-P).

Alexa’s concentrations include working with children and adults dealing with chronic illness, cancer, life transitions, and grief and loss. Having experience working with older adults as well as young children, she also supports clients with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, illness related regression, and social skills challenges.

Alexa is passionate about the notion that art therapy and play can act as universal and powerful tools for anyone. Using an integrative and trauma informed approach, she advocates for the personalized experience of each therapeutic relationship, prioritizing active listening and client self expression. In her recent work, she has become more engaged with family therapy, working to promote dialogue and understanding.

She is available for daytime and evening sessions, offering in person and virtual therapy, and will be an in-network provider with Anthem BCBS PPO plans.
