Mary Stewart
MA, ATR, LPC
Mary is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a Registered Art Therapist (ATR). She earned her M.A. in Art Therapy from The George Washington University and currently works with adolescents ages 14 and older as well as adults. As an Independent Contractor at Sage House Therapy, she offers in person as well as online, tele-health therapy session. Mary’s specialties include navigating challenging life transitions, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, trauma, PTSD as well as pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders and OCD. Mary uses an integrative approach in therapy, and draws from art therapy, psychodynamic theories, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Her approach is to provide therapy which combines self-exploration, empowerment, and skill building. Mary has completed a certification training in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International to best support her perinatal clients.
Clients describe Mary as warm, calming and supportive. She provides both support encouragement as well as gentle challenge in her work to enable the greatest growth for her clients. Her goal is to support individuals and families in gaining a deeper awareness, resilience, and emotional regulation skills to aid in navigating life’s challenges.
Mary is an in-network provider with AnthemBCBS PPO plans and a preferred out of network provider with Kaiser Permanente. She is an out of network provider for all other insurance carriers.
