Eating Disorder Therapy
Experts Who Are Here for You
Our trained clinicians have years of experience working with clients of all ages who have eating disorders as well as their family members. We specialize in working with various forms of disordered eating, which include Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge-Eating Disorder, Other Specified Feeding & Eating Disorders (OSFED), Avoidant Restrictive Food Eating Disorder (ARFED), Rumination Disorder, as well as body image concerns.
Our Collaborative Approach
Through clinical experience and extensive specialized trainings Sage House Therapy clinicians understand the unique challenges, complexities and risks eating disorder clients face. We are also connected to the local community of Nutritionists, Dietitians, Psychiatrists as well as Intensive Out Patient (IOP), Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and In Patient Residential Treatment Programs. These resources and referrals are provided when additional support is needed during the course of treatment. Our clinicians work collaboratively with treatment facilities and other eating disorder specialists to ensure each client’s safety during treatment.
When treating children and teens under the age of 18, our therapists actively engage family members and caregivers in treatment as this is essential for recovery. There are times during treatment when Family Therapy or Parent Coaching may be required to support the client’s therapy work. These services at provided at Sage House Therapy by expert member of our team specializing in these forms of therapy.
Health At Every Size
Sage House Therapy clinicians work within a Health At Every Size (HAES) framework. To learn more about this approach visit The Association for Size Diversity and Health. This approach affirms each individual, regardless of size, is deserving of a healthy life and high quality, respectful care. We believe in supporting health equity, ending weight discrimination and improving everyone access to high quality health care regardless of size. This approach encourages eating for wellbeing and does not support dieting and elective weight reduction surgeries, unless medically indicated. Our clinicians provide a therapeutic space for clients to focus on flexible eating with focuses on eating based on hunger, satiety and nutritional needs rather than weight control.
Creating Last Change
We listen and provide a space to explore any and all emotions in an accepting, loving, and supportive environment.
