M.Ed., Resident in Counseling
Lisa is a Resident in Counseling working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). As an independent contractor at Sage House Therapy, Lisa provides therapy services to children, adolescents and adults. Combing a person-centered therapy approach with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) she supports clients with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, social skills challenges, life transitions, ADHD, Autism and Sensory Processing Disorders, as well as grief and loss. She also supports clients with relationship challenges, self-compassion and body image concerns. In addition to individual therapy, Lisa also provides family therapy to help improve communication and strengthen family bonds. She is experienced in incorporating play therapy into her sessions, offering a creative approach to therapy.
Lisa earned her Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology from Virginia Tech and her Master's of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Mason University. She is passionate about creating a safe environment where clients can freely explore their thoughts and emotions, working collaboratively to help them achieve personal growth and happiness.
Lisa's counseling approach is rooted in empathy, active listening, and a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust. She creates tailored treatment plans that reflect each client's unique needs, ensuring a personalized therapeutic experience. Clients describe Lisa as supportive, non-judgemental, and compassionate.
Lisa currently offers therapy sessions in person and virtually. She is accepting new clients, with appointments starting in July. She offers daytime and evening sessions and will be an in-network provider with Anthem BCBS PPO plans.
